Indian Gateball Union team, which represented India in the Gateball event of World Games - 2009 atKaoshiung, Taiwan played extremely well. Though India could not get any medal in any of the 31 games included in World Games, at least in Gateball event our team went up to the quarter finals and were among top 12 in the event.

Indian Gateball Union team represented India in the Chinese International Gateball Tournament - 2009 at Shanghai, China. The team played reasonably well defeating experienced world class teams in practice matches. However, due to two consecutive losses they could not get any medal. But their practice in the Turf Courts has helped them to prepare better for the up coming events.

In Asian cities Gateball championship at Hong Kong IGU team fared well defeating two international teams. They lost by a narrow margin of one point on the way to semifinal. November 2009In the 2009 International Gateball Championship on the 10th Established Anniversary of Macau China GB Association the IGU team fared well winning a match.

Indian Gateball union surprised every body by obtaining the third position at the International Tournament at Gold Coast, Australia.

Indian Gateball union created history by being the Champions at the Bali International Gateball Tournament, Nusa Dua Fiesta defeating teams from Japan and Indonesia.
